There are about 75 ski resorts in Finland, most of them small local hills next to cities or villages. However, the largest are found in the plateaus of Lapland, and are classic destinations where to spend the winter holidays.

The "big four" ski resorts of Lapland (Levi, Ylläs, Pyhä-Luosto and Ruka) rise from about 500 meters to more than 700 meters above sea level, and boast a slope length of up to three kilometers . Versatile Lappish ski resorts offer everything to alpine skiing enthusiasts: from children's slopes to black slopes, snowparks and exploration of rugged areas. The season begins at the end of October, while the high season expands from February until the snow melts, at the beginning of May. The atmosphere in the Finnish ski resorts is pleasant, and much more relaxed than in the main and busy ski resorts of, for example, Central Europe. Do not worry about getting a ski pass in the tail lift, or kamikaze-style overtaking on the slopes.

Streaming live from Lapland is Levi Ski Resort Activity Park, with its complex structure of high ropes courses. Levi is the largest resort for alpine skiing in Finland, and nearby is Levi Hotel Spa and the city centre of Kittilä.

South Point Levi Finland

Levi is the biggest ski resort in Finland with the pistes available for downhill skiers and snowboarders, beginners or advanced skiers as well as children. The resort is located 170 km north from Rovaniemi and Arctic Circle. Levi offers it all, from wide family runs with lots of space to carve your tracks, to challenging steep pistes which whet the appetite of more accomplished and even expert skiers like World Cup alpine racers. There are altogether 43 pistes (3 black, 21 red, 18 blue and one transfer) with 27 lifts. For those who need coaching Levi has an international Ski School that offers courses for all skill levels.
